Rich in Vitamin E – High levels of naturally occurring Vitamin E provide power antioxidant benefits, protecting the cells from oxidative damage, & supporting repair & recovery. WGO has also been reported to improve serum levels of liver enzymes, and as such, WGO supplementation may offer additional protection for the Liver.
In addition to the Vitamin E, Wheatgerm oil also contains additional carotenoids, such as Beta Carotene, which offer further antioxidant support to the horse. WGO also contains Octacosanol, a component of vegetable wax, recent studies have found this component of WGO may have a beneficial impact on performance, making this an ideal addition to the performance horse diet.

It is important to remember that horses need a balance of both Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids for optimal health and performance. It isn't necessarily so that one is better than the other - they simply have different roles in the body and must be in balance with each other for optimal health and body function. Omega 3 is responsible for repairing cellular walls and maintaining a fluid and efficient waste-nutrient transfer. It's also critical for brain function and is instrumental in cleaning up after an injury has healed, acting as a potent anti-inflammatory. Omega 6 on the other hand, is responsible for causing inflammation and immune system reactions, which is necessary to stabilize injuries and fight off infections.
Feed 30-60 ml per day at maintenance or
90-150ml in times of elevated stress or workload.
